Is there an age limit?

How do I register?
Registration will be online on this website, Join our mailing list to stay updated.
Can I register on the day of the race?
No, there is no registration on the day.
How can I check to ensure that I am registered?
You will receive an email confirmation within minutes of completing your online registration transaction. If you didn’t get a confirmation email, please contact us. here
What is the official measurement of the course?
The runners will complete a 5K-marked course.
How much does it cost to participate?
€24 early bird per participant up to August 15th and €28 per participant thereafter.
Where does the event start?
The starting point will be announced closer to the run. Clear signage will be available at the airport business park providing directions.
Is free parking available?
Yes, of course. We encourage people participating together to carpool to save parking space. We would ask that you park safely and think of other road users.
How fast do I need to be able to run 5k in?
If you can run 5k in less than 45 minutes, you are welcome to participate.
I have registered but now I can’t go! Can I get a refund?
Sorry, refunds are not available. Keep in mind all proceeds go to our two charities, so feel good about money well spent.
Will race times be available?
Yes. This will be a chip-timed event. The chip is part of your race number and must be worn on the front of your shirt.
When should we arrive for the run?
We suggest you arrive approximately 30-45 minutes before the event to find parking and get ready.
Why is there a time limit?
To comply with agreements the Dara Fitzpatrick Memorial Run has with the Waterford Airport, the Runway must reopen to a set schedule.
Will spectators be allowed airside to watch?
Unfortunately due to health and safety no spectators will be allowed to come airside. Only registered runners will be able to pass through the gate and unto the runway. Family, friends and children can wait at the finish area. Prams and wheeled objects cannot be brought airside. Safety and security is our number one priority at the airport and as such we must abide to these rules.
What is not allowed on the course?
No walkers, No grumpy people, no frowns. No dogs (even though we love them), no strollers, and no unregistered runners.
No items of food or bottles allowed on the course.
What happens if it rains on race day?
Rain is of no concern.. Any number of things can happen on the day of the run and the most recent updates will be provided through our Facebook page and Twitter. Please note, in the event of an unexpected cancellation, we can’t refund the money raised – we will contribute to the two charities, as per the plan.
Are the prizes for the run?
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers.
